Dalit Politics and Resistance in Punjab

Many conversations around politics in Punjab continue to obscure the violence of caste and its central role in the structure of the Indian state and society. This series will engage with Dalit and Bahujan thinkers and activists to discuss our collective responsibility to meaningfully move towards the abolition of caste and liberation for all.

We will speak with Gurdeep Singh, president of the Ambedkar Students Association at Punjab University, to better understand the unique dynamics of caste in Punjab. We will explore various forms of Bahujan political mobilization and discuss the possibilities of collective resistance to Hindutva and Indian nationalism.
