It is clear that the recent laws were not driven by domestic interests alone, nor will the economic benefits be limited solely to Indian corporations. Thinkers and activists around the world have been paying attention to the underlying global ramifications of the proposed laws, as well as the insights the historic resistance has provided.
We will speak with Bikrum Gill, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Virginia Tech, to place the ongoing Morcha within the context of global shifts in international political economy and geopolitics and how this plays a role in India’s policy decisions.
